# Library

> Find, open, inspect, archive and restore your articles and writings.

The **Library** lists every article and writing you can open: the ones you created and the ones shared with you. Editors, Managing Editors and Admins see all of the organization's articles and writings.

## Find something

* **Search articles and writing** searches titles and text, and an article's SEO title and meta description.
* Choose **Filters** to filter by status (**Draft**, **Published** or **Archived**) and by when it was last updated (**Today**, **This Week**, **This Month** or **This Year**). **Draft** and **Published** show articles only; writings appear under **All Statuses** and **Archived**. **Clear Filters** shows everything again.

Switch between **Grid** and **List** at the top of the page. To choose which view opens first, set **Default Article View** in [Account settings → Appearance](https://docs.weelkit.com/settings/account.md#appearance).

* **Grid:** each card shows the title, an excerpt, the members, the number of comments, and when it was last updated, such as "3 hrs ago". Point at the time to see the exact date and time.
* **List:** each row shows the **Title**, **Status**, **Members**, **Comments** and when it was **Updated**.

An article's status follows your CMS: **Published** means it's live there, and **Draft** means it isn't, including scheduled posts. **Archived** is set in Weelkit. See [Article status](https://docs.weelkit.com/articles/checks-and-publishing.md#article-status).

## Open an article or writing

Choose the card or row, or choose **Edit** from its **⋯** menu. The document opens in the editor with its chat:

* If you created it, it opens in the chat where it was made.
* If someone shared it with you, it opens in a chat of your own, so your questions to the AI stay yours. Opening it again returns to that same chat.

If the chat it was made in was deleted, Weelkit opens the document in a chat you can use.

What you can do in it depends on your access. See [Roles and permissions](https://docs.weelkit.com/get-started/roles.md#access-to-an-article-or-writing).

## See an item's details

In the grid, choose **Info** from a card's **⋯** menu. **Article info** (or **Writing info**) shows its type, status, when it was created and by whom, when it was last modified, its words or version, comments, collaborators and excerpt. For a published article, **Published to** shows the CMS and when it was published there.

## Archive and restore

Archiving takes an article or writing out of your Library without deleting it.

1. Open the item's **⋯** menu and choose **Archive**.
2. Weelkit asks you to confirm: the item leaves your Library and its chats, and you can restore it later. Choose **Archive**.

**Archive** appears only on items you're allowed to manage, such as the ones you own. Archiving or restoring a published article also needs a role that can publish.

Archived items appear under the **Archived** filter. They can't be opened or edited.

To bring one back, choose the **Archived** filter, open the item's **⋯** menu and choose **Restore**. An article takes its status from your CMS again.

## Start something new

Choose **New chat** in the sidebar and ask the AI for an article or a writing. See [Chat with Weelkit AI](https://docs.weelkit.com/chat/chat-with-ai.md).
